| Since 1919, the Atchison Area Chamber of Commerce
has been responsible for making Atchison one of the nation's best
cities in which to live, work and visit. The Atchison Chamber of
Commerce is located in the restored Santa Fe Depot, an Atchison
landmark since 1880. The Chamber is involved multiple areas of interest
to include business development and retention, strategic planning
for the community, retail promotions, government and legislative
issues, leadership development, tourism promotions, and the Chamber
consistently works to achieve a state plan of action . The Structure of the Chamber consists of the executive, Chamber staff, several councils, committees and task forces, a board of directors and its members. The Chamber serves as a link between political leaders and residents of Atchison by keeping abreast of legislative issues that are of concern to the community. |
